Tripos plans U.K. job cuts

Tripos says it will streamline its discovery research business, based in Bude, England, resulting in a loss of anywhere from 20 to 99 jobs. The business currently employs 164 people. Tripos follows Discovery Partners International in downsizing at the end of a long-term contract to make small-molecule compounds for Pfizer (C&EN, Dec. 5, 2005, page 36).
