Cognis buys polymers maker

Cognis has purchased Cosmetic Rheologies, a Manchester, England-based maker of polymers used in personal and home care products. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Cognis says the newly acquired firm will make functional polymers one of the two key drivers of the firm's hair and skin care materials business. The other driver is active ingredients.
