Hexion Specialty Chemicals has signed a definitive agreement to purchase Rohm and Haas's wax compounds business in Semoy, France. Hexion, owned by the private investment firm Apollo Management, will transfer production of solvent-based wax compounds and water-based wax emulsions, used in printing inks and coatings, to its own sites.
