The C&EN Advisory Board member's comment about burning fossil fuels reminded me of a comment by Tom Lippincott when he was editor of the Journal of Chemical Education (C&EN, Nov. 13, 2006, page 3). It is a shame to burn up all the molecular architecture that exists in petroleum.
