Chemical Prices Rise In September

U.S. chemical prices increased in September, according to data from the Labor Department. The producer price index for all chemicals rose 0.8% from August and climbed 4.5% compared with September last year to 217.0 (1982 = 100). Meanwhile, the industrial chemical sector did even better, with the index improving 2.2% from August and 5.3% from the comparable month in 2006 to 227.7.
