Evonik has nominated Klaus Engel, 52, to take over as chairman when current Chairman Werner Müller step downs on Dec. 31. The decision must be ratified by the company's Supervisory Board at its meeting next month. The company has not yet named a successor for Engel, who is currently serving as head of the company's chemicals business, formerly known as Degussa.
