Effective Jan. 1, 2009, Shane Fleming, 50, will succeed David Lilley, 61, as chairman and CEO of Cytec Industries. Fleming, who is currently president and chief operating officer, has been with the firm or its predecessor, American Cyanamid, for 25 years. He led the specialty chemical operations after Cytec's acquisition of UCB's coatings raw materials business in 2005.
