Huber Engineered Materials is finalizing construction on a 40,000-metric-ton-per-year precipitated silica plant in the Chinese coastal city of Qingdao, in Shangdong province. When the plant is up and running at the end of June, it will supply specialty dental silica that toothpaste makers use as a cleaning agent and thickener.
