Arch Divests Industrial Coatings

Arch Chemicals has signed a definitive agreement to sell its industrial coatings business to paint maker Sherwin-Williams for $40 million in cash. With headquarters in Pianoro, Italy, the Arch coatings business had sales of $147 million in 2009, mostly to furniture makers. Arch says the sale will allow it to focus on its core biocides businesses.
