Endo Will Acquire Medical Device Maker

Endo Pharmaceuticals has agreed to buy American Medical Systems, a provider of minimally invasive urology and other pelvic health devices. Endo will pay $2.9 billion for AMS, which had sales last year of $542 million. Endo says the deal furthers its evolution “from a product-driven company to a health care solutions provider.”
