DuPont Starts Up Kevlar Capacity
DuPont has started up its $500 million Cooper River Kevlar p-aramid fiber facility near Charleston, S.C. The firm also manufactures the fiber, used to make bullet-proof vests, in Richmond, Va.; Maydown, Northern Ireland; and at a joint venture with Toray Industries in Tokai, Japan.
