BASF has opened a dermatology lab in Tarrytown, N.Y., to develop topical formulations for the pharmaceutical and animal health markets. The lab’s activities will include basic research on skin irritation and allergic reactions. The lab will also create full formulations that contain the firm’s solubilizers and an excipient line enlarged in 2010 with the acquisition of Cognis.
