Department: ACS News
Keywords: 50 year members, ACS
Emeritus Members

Maintaining Your Membership And C&EN Subscription

If you are an ACS member with 35 years or more of paid membership, are at least 70 years old, and are retired from full-time employment, you are eligible to apply for emeritus status. Emeritus members receive free ACS membership and other benefits, including C&EN. As an emeritus member, the only action you need to take each year is to notify ACS that you want to continue your membership and to receive C&EN.

To renew your membership or apply for emeritus status, please contact Member Services at (800) 333-9511 (U.S. or Canada) or (614) 447-3776 (outside U.S. and Canada), by fax at (614) 447-3671, by e-mail at service@acs.org, or online at www.renew.acs.org.

CORRECTION: We wish to extend belated congratulations to Paul V. Koehn of Oneonta, N.Y., who celebrated 50 years of membership in 2004 but was not included in the member list published on April 12, 2004.

The American Chemical Society and its local sections are honoring those who have reached 50 years of membership in 2013. This year, the society has more than 900 50-year members worldwide. To commemorate reaching this milestone, each member receives a 50-year certificate, a special lapel pin, and a permanent member card entitling him or her to free registration at all national and regional ACS meetings.
