BASF Rolling Out Superabsorbents Tech Worldwide

BASF plans to invest about $625 million within the next three years to install droplet polymerization capacity at its superabsorbent polymers plants around the world. The new process yields round particles that have micropores, which make for a highly absorbent material for diaper cores. BASF plans on launching the new superabsorbents under the Saviva name in 2016.
