Merck Hands Over Chinese Partnership

Merck & Co. and its Chinese partner Simcere Pharmaceutical are restructuring their joint venture in China. The two companies set the venture up in 2011 with an initial focus on branded drugs for cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Simcere is taking over management of the venture, which will shift its focus to local innovative and mature products.
