Overview:
Proteomic workflows using nano-LC MS/MS are relatively robust but often slow relative to small molecule analysis. Using a hybrid PEEKSil/stainless steel electrode (25mm id) for the Duospray/Turboionspray source, we can now obtain similar sensitivity as nano flow LC MS/MS for proteomics workflows performed on a AB SCIEX TripleTOF® 5600 System. This hybrid electrode is totally compatible with capillary LC flow rates of 3-5 ml/min, which results in highly reproducible retention times, narrow peak widths, shorter runtimes and makes it highly attractive for label free quantitative proteomics.
