This webinar will provide an overview of SYNAPT® High Definition Mass Spectrometry (HDMS) with travelling wave ion mobility. The technology embedded within the SYNAPT HDMS instrument will be discussed, including a basic introduction to ion mobility separations.

Ion mobility is a powerful tool that offers unique benefits for complex materials characterization, including additional peak capacity and an orthogonal mode of separation, along with molecular size determinations through Collision Cross Section (CCS) calculations. Implementation of these tools will be illustrated with examples from the oil and petroleum industry, as well as aspects of polymer characterization.

Participants Will Learn:

• About the technology and key features of the SYNAPT HDMS instrument

• A basic introduction to ion mobility

• How these tools can be applied to complex materials characterization
