ACS names 2025 Chemistry Olympiad Study Camp students

Students will compete to be a part of Team USA at the 57th International Chemistry Olympiad

Twenty student finalists will participate in the 2025 Chemistry Olympiad Summer Camp at the University of Maryland, College Park, June 2–13.

A total of 20 student finalists have been selected to participate in the 2025 Chemistry Olympiad Study Camp as part of the American Chemical Society’s US National Chemistry Olympiad (USNCO) program. The camp will be held June 2–13 at the University of Maryland, College Park. Camp attendees will compete for a place on the traveling Team USA, whose members will represent the US at the 57th International Chemistry Olympiad, to be held in the United Arab Emirates July 5–14. Members of the traveling team will be announced at a closing banquet for the study camp on June 13.

Students selected by USNCO to attend the camp are Jacky Cai, Carmel High School in Indiana; Aiden Choi, Saint Paul Preparatory Seoul in South Korea; Aarush Das, Troy High School in Michigan; Daniel Ding, Newton South High School in Massachusetts; Alex Dong, Shanghai High School International Division in China; Jonathan Hai, Princeton International High School of Mathematics and Science in New Jersey; James Jiang, The Frazer School in Florida; Hyunjun Kim, Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire; Yuqing Liu, Westwood High School in Texas; Adam Madni, Carmel High School in Indiana; Vishnu Mangipudi, Lakeside Upper School in Washington; Arya Morasa, Mira Loma High School in California; Yash Shah, Panther Creek High School in North Carolina; Christopher Wang, Solon High School in Ohio; William Wang, Lakeside Upper School in Washington; Keith Xin, Whitney M. Young Magnet High School in Illinois; Anna Xing, Ward Melville Senior High School in New York; Samuel Xu, Newton South High School in Massachusetts; Max Zhou, San Marino High School in California; and Liran Zhu, Troy High School in California.

Participants in the study camp will be instructed and guided by the faculty of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry of the University of Maryland, College Park, as well as the following mentors: head mentor Songwen Xie of Massachusetts College of Pharmacy; college mentor Borislava Bekker of American River College; and high school mentors Komal Jain of Lake Braddock Secondary School in Virginia and Steve Lantos of Brookline High School in Massachusetts.
