Tonino Adessi, Kelly Marrugo, and Agostina Mazzeo are the 2025 recipients of the Irving S. Sigal Global Mobility Awards for Postdoctoral Researchers. The award recognizes and supports international postdoctoral scholars by enabling them to attend and present research at ACS Fall 2025 in Washington, DC.
Tonino Adessi is a postdoctoral researcher at the Rosario Chemistry Institute (IQUIR-CONICET) in Rosario, Argentina. His research specializes in the synthesis of biologically active heterocyclic compounds and natural product derivatives for medicinal applications, specifically targeting parasitic diseases and cancer.
Kelly Marrugo is a postdoctoral researcher at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile in Santiago, Chile. She develops and investigates dendrimer-based nanoparticle systems for targeted drug delivery and molecular imaging. Her research bridges organic synthesis, nanotechnology, and biomedicine.
Agostina Mazzeo is a postdoctoral researcher at the Medicinal Chemistry Laboratory at CIBION-CONICET in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Her work focuses on the development and physicochemical characterization of antiviral candidates against neglected tropical diseases such as chikungunya, dengue, and Zika virus.
The Irving S. Sigal Global Mobility Award was established in 2024. You can learn more about the award and application on the award website.
