The American Chemical Society Carolina-Piedmont Section seeks nominations for the 2024 Charles H. Stone Award. The award recognizes outstanding chemists in the southeastern US who have not been previously recognized nationally. Award recipients have contributed to the field of chemistry through activities in the scientific community, public outreach, education, or research. The region of eligibility consists of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. The award features a plaque and an honorarium of $5,000 to be presented at a meeting of the Carolina-Piedmont Section.
Nominations should be submitted as a single PDF and should include a nominating letter with a biography by the sponsor or nominator, a letter of support from the local section chair, and a short letter of support from no more than two cosponsors. Nomination packages should be sent to Matthew K. Chan, Charles H. Stone Committee chair, at chanmkalb@gmail .com .com. Nominations are open from Oct. 1 to Nov. 15.
