On Oct. 1 and 2, the American Chemical Society held its 21st annual Pharma Leaders Conference, hosted this year at the Merck & Co. campus in Rahway, New Jersey. Leaders in medicinal chemistry from pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies came together to discuss relevant pre- and noncompetitive topics of interest.
For these conferences, topic identification and development is a collaborative process involving the host, attendees, and the ACS. After topics have been decided, expert speakers are sourced from attending companies. This year, over 40 executives from pharma and biotech companies engaged in discussions on DNA-encoded libraries and other approaches to finding new synthetic modalities in drug discovery; automation and high-throughput experimentation in drug discovery; and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
