Wacker Chemie is constructing a vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer production line in Ulsan, South Korea, with a capacity of 40,000 metric tons per year. The new line, to cost about $13 million, will double capacity at the site for VAE used in adhesives, paints, and carpet binders. Wacker says the expansion is essential to meet anticipated growth in Asian markets.
