A Centers for Disease Control & Prevention review of chemical accidents in nine states lays out the top five industries for evacuations and injuries between 1999 and 2008. The top five chemicals involved in those accidents were carbon monoxide, ammonia, chlorine, hydrochloric acid, and sulfuric acid, the report says.
