Chemours Axes Jobs Before Big Spin-Off

In advance of its upcoming spin-off from DuPont, Chemours is cutting 5 to 7% of its workforce. The company, formerly DuPont’s performance chemicals business, employs about 9,000 people. DuPont says the move will “eliminate selected roles across its global workforce” and is meant to reduce its cost structure. The company isn’t saying what locations will be affected.
