Versalis buys Mossi Ghisolfi’s biobased businesses

Versalis, the chemical arm of the Italian oil and gas firm Eni, has agreed to acquire four biobased chemical businesses from Italy’s Mossi Ghisolfi Group. The sale was ordered by an Italian court to settle debts following Mossi Ghisolfi’s 2017 bankruptcy filing. One of the businesses, Beta Renewables, built a biomass-to-ethanol plant in Crescentino, Italy.
