Bavaria Medizin makes a variety of catheters.

Lubrizol has acquired the German medical device firm Bavaria Medizin Technologie for an undisclosed sum. BMT specializes in research and manufacturing of intravascular and nonvascular catheters; it developed the first drug-coated balloon. Lubrizol says the BMT buy adds to its own expertise in precision thermoplastic extrusion and product development. The acquisition includes BMT’s 100 employees and a production facility in Romania.
