Calibre buys Evonik’s persulfates unit

Mumbai-based Calibre Chemicals has acquired RheinPerChemie, a producer of ammonium and sodium persulfates, from Evonik Industries for an undisclosed sum. Headquartered in Rheinfelden, Germany, RheinPerChemie produces persulfates for applications including groundwater remediation and the production of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. Calibre claims to be Asia’s largest maker of potassium persulfate outside China. It has been majority owned by the Singapore-based investment firm Everstone Capital for the past year.
