SK Capital will buy specialties firm Valtris

SK Capital Partners, a private equity firm that invests in chemical companies, is buying Valtris Specialty Chemicals from H.I.G. Capital, another private equity firm, for an undisclosed amount. Valtris was founded in 2014, when H.I.G. bought the polymer additive business of Ferro for $154 million. Valtris purchased a former AkzoNobel unit, Akcros Chemicals, in 2016. Valtris is based in Independence, Ohio, and operates nine plants.
