UK authorities are considering investigating the planned $2.3 billion acquisition of GCP Applied Technologies by the French construction material firm Saint-Gobain. GCP was formerly W. R. Grace’s construction chemical business. The government is concerned that the deal will result in substantially less competition in the construction chemical industry in the UK. Interested parties have until June 13 to comment.
