Lacamas Laboratories, a Portland, Oregon–based specialty chemical maker, has acquired a fine chemical facility in Albany, Oregon, from W. R. Grace. The company owned the plant, which employs more than 20 people, since 2010. Lacamas’s main businesses include manufacturing pharmaceutical raw materials and defense chemicals for the military. It was awarded an $86 million contract by the US Department of Defense last year to set up production of chemicals used to make munitions.
