Chemical Shipments Plateau in March

The total value of U.S. chemical shipments in March was unchanged from February, according to seasonally adjusted data from the Commerce Department. Shipments were, however, down 1.1% when compared with March of last year. The inventories-to-shipments ratio was fairly steady. The March ratio for all chemicals was 1.20, unchanged from February and up from 1.17 a year earlier.
