BASF Will Relocate Surfactants Plant

BASF plans to close a surfactants and specialty chemical facility in Washington, N.J., by the end of 2014 and move production to its complex in Geismar, La. Dirk Buengel, BASF’s vice president for care chemicals in North America, says the move will “position our surfactants business for the future.” The New Jersey plant opened in 1961 and now employs 75 people.
