Abstract art? No, the result of an overnight acid-rain simulation experiment inadvertently left for three months due to COVID-19 closing schools. This plastic cup originally contained a leaf, a penny, and a paperclip in some vinegar. “Not the intended lesson,” says high school chemistry teacher Sam Falk, “but the crystals are really cool!”
