Fujifilm plans to spend about $140 million to expand capacity at two sites in Japan that produce materials used in semiconductor manufacturing. In Shizuoka, the company will build new facilities for advanced photoresists, including ones used in extreme ultraviolet lithography. In Oita, Fujifilm plans to add capacity for cleaners used after the chemical mechanical planarization process smoothes the surface of semiconductor wafers. The firm expects the projects to be completed by the spring of 2026.
