Nexus Fuels turns plastics into pyrolysis oil at a facility near Atlanta.

Shell Chemical says it has successfully used postconsumer plastics to make chemicals. The Atlanta-based company Nexus Fuels broke down waste plastics into pyrolysis liquid, which was delivered to Shell’s Norco, Louisiana, chemical complex and upgraded into petrochemicals. Shell aims to recycle 1 million metric tons per year of plastics this way at its plants globally by 2025.
