OVERVIEW

This webinar will focus on the benefits and challenges of measuring elemental concentrations and properties of samples of terra firma with LIBS. Effective sample preparation methods and analysis parameters will be discussed in some detail. We will show results predicting elemental concentrations and predicting properties of samples in these matrices. Typically, with suitable calibration, standard error of measurement can be below 5%, and in some cases below 2%. Applications in fields such as energy system control, precision agriculture, and unconventional resource recovery will be discussed.

KEY LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

- Coal, soil, and geological sample analysis

- LIBS methods for heterogeneous matrices

- Typical results for LIBS analysis of natural materials

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
  • • Industry leaders searching for a rapid method for elemental and property analysis of soils, geological materials, and/or coals
  •
  • • Analytical scientists wanting to understand more about the application of LIBS to heterogeneous matrices
  •
  • • Engineers who want to improve the efficacy of operations in coal plants, geological exploration, and precision agriculture
