John P. Walsh, 81, of Bonita Springs, Florida, died Aug. 24, 2024.
"I worked with John at Celanese in the late 1970s. He introduced me to polymer chemistry. I enjoyed learning so much from such a creative polymer chemist who loved benchwork. We ultimately shared a patent. John had a deep passion for studying history, particularly World War II. He also enjoyed bowling, traveling, savoring good food, listening to jazz, solving crossword puzzles, and reading classic science fiction. He had a great sense of humor with a quick wit. His grin was infectious. We all enjoyed his company, listening to his jokes and stories. We will miss him."—Mike Nowak, friend
