Philip Pivawer, 85, of Hamden, Connecticut, died Dec. 4, 2024.
“Phil began his career synthesizing agricultural products with Olin before gradually shifting to process development, an area in which he holds several patents. In 1976, he left Olin to start a process development and consulting business. He then bought into a small company, Carbolabs, and ran that business until 1997, when he sold it to Sigma-Aldrich. He continued to work for Sigma-Aldrich until he left to return to consulting. Phil loved being a chemist and businessman, and he was a caring mentor to many. He will be greatly missed by his family and those who knew and cared for him.”—Mary Pivawer, daughter
