Thomas J. Curphey, 90, of Hanover, New Hampshire, died Dec. 4, 2024.
“Born in 1934, Tom received a BA and PhD at Harvard University. After postdoctoral work at the University of Wisconsin and a year as an instructor at Yale University, he joined the faculty at Saint Louis University in 1964, rising in 1975 to the rank of professor. In 1975, he moved to Dartmouth College to join the Department of Pathology, where he pursued the prevention of pancreatic cancer, and the Department of Chemistry, where he engaged in sulfur chemistry. In his free time, Tom was a passionate golfer. His perspicacious questions at chemistry seminars will be greatly missed."—Gordon Gribble, colleague
