Saul Schepartz, 94, of Rockville, Maryland, died Jan. 22, 2024.
"Saul was an integral part of the National Cancer Institute's drug development program from its earliest days and was dedicated to the development and dissemination of treatments in the US and abroad. During his career, he authored or coauthored over 60 scientific publications, and he was awarded the US National Institutes of Health Department of Health, Education, and Welfare Superior Service Award in 1972. He was a brilliant, kind, supportive, and ethical man who was as dedicated to his beloved wife Marlyn, children, grandchildren, friends, coworkers, and community as he was to the rigorous pursuit of science. He is deeply missed."—Helen Schepartz, daughter
