Travis P. Remarchuk, 52, of San Francisco, died July 1, 2023.
“Travis died while vacationing on Easter Island. After earning his bachelor's degree, he worked as a process chemist before going on to postgraduate studies. Next came postdoctoral research at Harvard University. Throughout his career in the pharmaceutical industry (at Agouron Pharmaceuticals, Genentech, Denali Therapeutics, and Alumis), he supported the development of small-molecule manufacturing processes. Travis was passionate about chemistry and traveling. He was proud of his bookcase full of the Journal of the American Chemical Society. He mentored many and always gave his full attention to any problem. We deeply miss his kind eyes, his giggle, and his mischievous side.”—Brenda Burke Chan and Neal Anderson, friends and colleagues
