Brazil Plane Crash Claims Executives

Several Brazilian chemical executives were among those that perished on TAM Linhas Aéreas Flight JJ3054, which crashed last week while attempting a landing at Congonhas Airport in São Paulo. These include managers at the Brazilian chemical trade association ABIQUIM, including executive vice president Guilherme Duque Estrada de Moraes, regulatory affairs director Marta Maria Franco Laudares de Almeida, and technical adviser Mirtes Suda. Others who died in the crash include Janus Lucas Leite Silva and José Carlos Pierucetti in supplies and market development at Braskem, respectively; Paulo César Pavi, a manager of an Ipiranga Química Polymers unit; and Claudemir Buzzanelli Arriero from Dow Brasil.
