AstraZeneca, Nonprofit Eye Cancer Metabolism

AstraZeneca and the nonprofit Cancer Research UK will collaborate to find new drugs targeting cancer metabolism. Under the three-year pact, scientists will try to find an Achilles heel for cancer cells by exploring how they use energy differently from normal cells. The British drug firm will develop any promising molecules, and the nonprofit will snag milestone payments and royalties.
