Codexis Narrows Biocatalysis Focus

Codexis has decided to focus exclusively on developing biocatalysts for making pharmaceuticals and specialty chemicals. It is winding down its cellulase enzymes business after failing to find a new transaction or partner in light of slow prospects for the expansion of the cellulosic ethanol industry. Earlier in the year, Codexis also stopped development of detergent alcohols.
