Evonik buys the cosmetic active ingredient firm Novachem

Evonik Industries has purchased the personal care chemical maker Novachem. Based in Buenos Aires, Novachem has a portfolio of active ingredients for skin and hair care products made from biobased feedstocks using biotechnology. Evonik will integrate its acquisition into its Nutrition and Care division. In a press release, Evonik cites Novachem’s access to customers in Latin America as well as its product line and technology as motivations for the deal.
