BASF to double Ultrason plant

May 1, 2006 | A version of this story appeared in Volume 84, Issue 18

BASF will double capacity for the polysulfone engineering plastic Ultrason at its Ludwigshafen, Germany, plant. The company says the expansion to 12,000 metric tons per year will be complete by the end of 2007. The firm will also build a new logistics and packaging center. All told, BASF says it will spend in the "mid-double-digit million euro" range on the project.
