Production is off in August

Total U.S. chemical production in August slipped from the previous month, but it was still ahead of the comparable month a year earlier, according to seasonally adjusted data from the Federal Reserve Board. The production index for all chemicals was down 0.4% from July, but up 2.4% from August 2005 to 105.2 (2002 = 100).
