Degussa has invested some $85 million to double capacity for carbon black in Paulínia, Brazil, to 100,000 tons per year. Degussa says the expansion makes it the world's second-largest manufacturer of carbon black, with approximately 1.4 million metric tons of capacity per year. The output is destined for the Brazilian tire and technical rubber products industries.
