Mitsui Plans Another Plant In Singapore

Mitsui Chemicals will spend $155 million in Singapore to build a second 100,000-metric-ton-per-year plant producing its Tafmer-brand α-olefin copolymer. The unit is scheduled to open in 2009. The copolymer is used to improve the impact resistance of plastic car bumpers and to increase the sealing characteristics of polyolefins used in packaging.
