Algae firm Solix Biofuels has raised $16 million in a second round of venture funding. All of the money was raised from early investors. The company also is changing its name to Solix BioSystems because it will now sell algae production systems. Its first product, the Lumian Algae Growth System 4000, is a network of narrow, flexible, floating plastic photobioreactors.
